Is Video/ Audio software needed or necessary for your PC?
Depends on the intended use of the build - the large majority of builds here are "workstation" type of builds, that will absolutely use a monitor and speakers or headphones - so you can say "yes, I need audio and video output requirements" and of course those requirements would be the drivers for said hardware and software to drive audio and video output.
Some builds do not even need this, let say you need a nas or a DIY router, both of these I have running headless (no keyboard, mouse or monitor connected) so "no, I don't need output for audio and video" - only connect up a keyboard / monitor when I need to reconfigure them.
Okay thank you very much, I'm mostly trying to build a gaming build.
Not unless you edit videos or make music.
Question is too vague to answer.
